Choosing the best Summer Camp for your child
It would be strange if, as a parent, the thought of your child spending a week away from home at a summer camp didn’t fill you will a little worry. That is why choosing the right camp is such an important decision.
Children Nervous about Summer Camp ?- don’t worry
Parents if your child is nervous about going to summer camp- this is normal. The important thing is to remain the parents, be in charge and stick to your decision of sending your child to camp. This is a perfect example of one of the strengths they will gain from going to camp. It may be their first time away from home, or indeed from you- but it is time for your child to experience independence.
Protect your relationships
The World is a very fast-paced place to live these days, with so many different gadgets available to everyone that sometimes we actually lose track of the relationships we have with people. More and more kids are playing video games or are spending time on the internet, which causes them to not get the same human interactions that we got when we were children. I think that it is great that all of this technology is now available for us to use, but I do think that we can get too wrapped up in it if we are not careful. I think that one of the best ways to get back in touch with people, and also to try to slow down your life is to get back to nature. If you leave your laptop, your cell phone, and yes even your iPod at home, then you will be amazed at how many different things you can experience within a short period of time. Camping in the woods really brings people closer together.
While searching for fun things to do at camp we came across a funny series on YouTube videos aimed at “How to draw”. Now while this conventionally would not be appealing to a group of teenagers or indeed a group of 6 years olds, the quirky social aspect of it, turning it into a challenge became appealing. I must state that currently at our camp we have resisted any sort of technology and ban mobile phones, ipads, ipods etc so this may not be benefitical to use in its current state, but it did spark an idea.

Budget Family Vacation Idea
Is the money spent on a family vacations concern for you, you are looking for a budget family vacation? Flight, train and ferry tickets have gotten high in recent months due to the rise in oil and gas prices. A weekend booking in a hotel for a family of 4 is nearly the same as a weeks’ salary thats not a budget family vacation. This means many families with a smaller budget are left with the uncertainty of whether they can afford to take the family on vacation this next summer.
